Theater of Dionysus

Theater of Dionysus is located on the south-east slope of the Acropolis. The original theater most likely consisted of wooden benches and was rebuilt in stone in the late 4th century B.C. by the Athenian statesman Lykourgos and then again in later years by the Romans.
